Externally employed doctoral student

An externally employed doctoral student is a doctoral student who conducts the majority of his research at a company or other public institution to which he or she is fully employed. The studies, which are fully financed by the student's employer, are conducted half-time within the regular employment. The Department of Psychology provides supervisors, courses and desk in a shared office space. With the exception of a different admission process, an externally employed doctoral student follows the same general syllabus as other doctoral students. The purpose of the system with externally employed doctoral students is to contribute to societal development by creating collaborative synergies between the university and the outside world.
